Peter Groves
Peter Groves is an experienced commercial, intellectual property, IT and data protection solicitor.
He advises clients on protecting and exploiting intellectual property, including trade marks and registered designs, and regularly handles IP due diligence, audits, IT contracts and licensing and distribution arrangements.
He is a strong advocate of preventative lawyering, helping clients avoid disputes wherever possible.
Peter began his career in-house before moving into private practice, and has advised clients across the motor industry, arts and entertainment, and technology sectors.
He has also acted for high-profile individuals and organisations, including the Royal Institute of British Architects, for whom he served as a part-time legal adviser.
Alongside practice, Peter has taught at several universities, delivered professional training, and written extensively on IP law.
He is the author of several books, including A Dictionary of Intellectual Property Law, and is a member of the Society of Authors.
Outside work, he enjoys running and spending time with his grandchildren.
